About the Event
Discover the Art of Nature: Create Your Own Paints from Foraged Materials
This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to make a fine pigment and create a watercolour from the raw materials foraging from the coastline. This is a workshop for those who love to explore colour, and texture and create art from the most precious natural materials.
What to Expect:
- Hands-On Learning: Get your hands dirty as we forage for stones, clays, and pigments along the beautiful shores of Morecambe Bay. Our morning will be spent walking and exploring, looking at different stones, clays and pigments from the surrounding shores. We'll provide baskets for you to borrow or please bring along your own.
- Warming lunch and refreshments
- Create Your Own Paints and Watercolours: Back at our cosy barn, we'll compare our foraged materials and you’ll turn your finds into fine pigments and create unique watercolours, just like our ancestors did. This is a deeply connecting workshop for anyone interested in using natural and raw materials to get creative.
- Explore and Connect: Immerse yourself in the land’s stories and natural beauty while connecting with like-minded creatives in a beautiful landscape. This is such a beautiful process to share in together with a small group.
